Delbarton hockey, coming off a few days off, came away with a huge 3-0 win over rival Don Bosco Prep on Sunday, January 22 at the Ice Vault.
After a scoreless but entertaining first period, Delbarton struck first when
Brandon Shaffer found
Liam Donnelly who ripped a shot passed the Bosco goalie's right shoulder for a 1-0 lead.Â
Max Pendy would cause a turnover in the Ironmen zone, finding
Jack Gerne for a one timer and a 2-0 lead.
With a 2-0 lead after two periods, Delbarton went on the power play, and
Duncan Stewart scored on a beautiful give and go from
Timmy Galvin and
Nick Faccone, giving Delbarton a 3-0 lead, more than enough for
Jason Cai. The ever dependable Cai was once again a force in net, stopping all 21 shots en route to his second division shutout of the season.
Delbarton hits the road this week on Tuesday against Princeton Day School, followed by Lawrenceville on Wednesday, January 25. As the month comes to an end, Delbarton welcomes CBA on January 31 and Don Bosco on February 2.
