The Green Wave, ranked #1 in the state of New Jersey, opened the 2023-24 season with a big 4-1 Gordon Division victory over Princeton Day School.
Delbarton opened the scoring as
Dante Rodriguez raced down the left side of the ice, making a beautiful move in front of the net for a backhanded goal, giving Delbarton the 1-0 lead in the first.  Later in the first period,
Jacob Gomez would find
Aidan Pasic who hit
Max Pendy cutting through the blue line.  Pendy would rip a shot stick side past the keeper for the 2-0 lead.
Princeton Day would score its only goal of the game on a one-timer on a 2 on 1 rush, but the Green Wave would respond after a 2-1 second period lead.
Dante Rodriguez would score his second of the game, sending a wrister from the left side past the goalie on his blocker side for the 3-1 lead.  Sophomore
Egor Andreev would seal the game with a long empty net goal from the Delbarton zone with 24 seconds left, scoring his first ever point as part of the Green Wave.
Junior goalie
George Cote made 21 saves in the victory while Pasic and Rodriguez finished with 2 points each.  Delbarton returns to the ice on Sunday, December 10 at the Ice Vault against Don Bosco Prep.  Puck drop set for 6:15pm.
