In one of New Jersey's most heated on ice rivalries, Delbarton and Christian Brothers Academy's second tilt of the year ended in a 4 - 4 tie at Sportscare Arena on January 31.
Nick Faccone '23 opened the scoring with an assist from Duncan Stewart '23 at 6:11 into the first. The lead was short lived as CBA tied it up at one just a minute and two seconds later. Max Pendy '24 scored the first of his two goals off an assist from Duncan Stewart only to see the lead lost again as CBA scored a late first-period goal with just four seconds remaining in the period.
The Green Wave started the third period down a goal but rallied with two goals just 1:26 apart. Max Pendy netted his second with an assist from Nick Faccone and Brandon Shaffer '25 ended the scoring with an assist from the day's top point scorer, Max Pendy.
CBA scored with an empty net man-advantage with 36 seconds left, deadlocking a game between these two perennial state heavyweights,
Jason Cai '23 was good for 25 saves on 29 shot attempts for an .826 save percentage.Â
