On Sunday, March 10, Delbarton senior football players Johnny Riley '24 and Ryan Cregan '24 were celebrated by the New Jersey Football Coaches Association at the prestigious 2023 "Super 100" All-State Football Team luncheon at the Pines Manor in Edison, NJ. Their remarkable achievements on the gridiron, coupled with their academic excellence and community involvement, set them apart as true champions.
Johnny Riley has been a force to be reckoned with as a dominant linebacker for the Green Wave throughout the past three seasons. His relentless pursuit of excellence and determination have not only solidified his place as a standout player for the Green Wave, but also earned him a spot at Dartmouth College, where he will continue to showcase his athletic ability.
Equally impressive is Ryan Cregan, who was a standout offensive lineman for the Green Wave. His exceptional skills and commitment to excellence have not gone unnoticed, earning a full athletic scholarship to Villanova University.
However, their contributions extend beyond the football field. Both Johnny and Ryan have demonstrated outstanding leadership in the classroom and within the Delbarton community. Their commitment to academic success and service is a testament to their character.
In addition to the individual accolades Johnny and Ryan received, Head Coach Brian Bowers was also honored by his coaching peers as the NJSIAA Non-Public Coach of the Year. Brian helped lead the Green Wave football program to the Non Public championship game this November, along with a conference title.
The entire Delbarton community is incredibly proud of Johnny Riley, Ryan Cregan, and Coach Brian Bowers and congrats on their well-deserved recognition!
