The Delbarton hockey team showcased their resilience on the road with an impressive 4-2 victory over Lawrenceville yesterday. After building an early 1-0 lead on a first-period goal from CJ Sorrentino, the Green Wave found themselves trailing 2-1 entering the final period. However, a three-goal outburst in the third secured the comeback win, demonstrating their poise under pressure.
Michael Pirot ignited the rally midway through the third with a stunning wrist shot over the glove on a 2-on-1 rush, tying the game at 2-2. Moments later, Egor Andreev capitalized on a rebound in front of the net to give Delbarton a 3-2 lead. As time wound down, Aidan Pasic sealed the victory with an empty-net goal. The Green Wave attack was supported by assists from Matthew Good, Matteo Conte, Cole Hurst, Sean O'Gwen, Matthew Peng, and Dante Rodriguez. George Cote was stellar in net, making 34 saves to anchor the victory. Cote continues to shine this season with a .924 save percentage, allowing just 10 goals to date.
Delbarton's ability to respond in crucial moments and deliver a strong team performance highlights their potential as the season progresses. With this victory, the Green Wave maintain their momentum and look to build on their success against St. Augustine, today at 4pm.
