Delbarton and St. Joseph Regional skated to a hard-fought 2–2 tie on Tuesday night at Sport-O-Rama in New York, with neither side able to find a winner in overtime.
Delbarton opened the scoring in the first period when Gavin Guo buried his goal to give the Green Wave a 1–0 lead after one. The game remained tight through the middle frame as both teams traded chances.
St. Joseph Regional broke through in the third period, tying the game on a power-play goal. Delbarton responded, however, as Tommy Keough answered back to restore a 2–1 lead, finishing a play set up by Matteo Conte.
With under three minutes remaining in regulation, the Green Knights rallied once more, knotting the score at 2–2 and forcing overtime. Despite quality opportunities at both ends in the extra session, neither team could convert, and the contest ended in a draw.
In net, Paul Insuado delivered a strong performance for Delbarton, stopping 24 shots to help secure the tie.
