Delbarton continued its strong start to the season on Tuesday night, blanking Seton Hall Prep, 5–0, at Codey Arena to improve to 5-0-1 on the year in a game that also carried special meaning.
Before the opening faceoff, both teams came together at center ice in support of Hockey Fights Cancer, marking another year of unity around the cause.
Once play began, the Green Wave set the tone early. Thomas Giroux opened the scoring in the first period with his first goal of the season, banging home a rebound on the power play to give Delbarton a 1–0 lead.
Delbarton pulled away in the second. Ayden Puppe struck early in the period, and Michael Pirot followed with a highlight-reel finish later in the period to push the advantage to 3–0 heading into the third.
The offense kept rolling in the final period. Egor Andreev finished off a perfectly placed feed from Pirot, snapping a shot glove side past the goalie, and Aidan Pasic capped the scoring to make it 5–0.
Pirot led the way with three points, while Andreev and Pasic each added two. Marco Zimovack chipped in with a pair of assists, and Jacob Gomez, Sean O'Gwen, and goaltender Paul Insuato were also credited with helpers. Insuato was sharp between the pipes, stopping all 14 shots he faced to record his second shutout of the season.
