In less-than-ideal conditions, the Delbarton golf team fought through frigid temperatures and high winds to secure a hard-earned 161-166 victory over Seton Hall Prep in their season opener. With temperatures hovering in the low 40s and gusty winds making every swing a challenge, both teams struggled to find their rhythm on the course.
Matthew Lu led all golfers with a steady 39, managing to navigate the tough conditions better than anyone else on the course. Henry Moriarty and Dominick Beck followed closely behind, each carding a 4-over 40. Grady Gore and Jake Kurtzman posted matching 42s, while Will Kramer rounded out the team scoring with a 45.
Seton Hall Prep also found the conditions challenging, as every player in their lineup shot over 41, giving Delbarton just enough of an edge to pull out the victory.
The Green Wave will look to carry their momentum into next week's matchup against Morristown at Somerset Hills, where they hope for more favorable weather!
