The Green Wave's county title defense opened in dominating fashion, as Delbarton defeated Kinnelon 77-28 on Thursday, February 2. After putting up 30 first quarter points, Delbarton took a commanding 58-17 lead into the second half. The teams would play closer in the second half, with Delbarton's bench getting plenty of paying time.
Delbarton had thirteen players scoring on Thursday night, including three scoring in double digits.
Michael VanRaaphorst led the way with 13 points and 5 rebounds, while
Will McGinty scored 12 points and Johnny Riley had 10 points, three rebounds and three assists.
Nick Modugno had 8 points,
Lincoln Zimmermann had 7 and
Mike Vaccaro had four points and 4 rebounds in the victory.
Delbarton will now face Morris Hills in the quarterfinal on Saturday, Feburary 4. Tip off is 3:30pm from Randolph High School.
