In an electrifying showdown on Saturday night, Delbarton basketball showcased true grit and determination, securing their third consecutive Morris County Tournament title in a heart-stopping showdown against rivals Mendham. Despite trailing for the majority of the game, Delbarton's resilience shone through as they clawed their way back from 12-5 first-quarter and a 28-22 halftime deficits.

The momentum shifted dramatically in the fourth quarter when Delbarton, led by Tournament MVP Mike Van Raaphorst's stellar performance, finally seized their first lead. Van Raaphorst, matching Lincoln Zimmermann's 15 points, proved to be a pivotal performer, particularly with his free-throw shooting that helped narrow the gap.

With the tension reaching and the clock winding down, it was Will McGinty who emerged as the hero, sinking a clutch layup in the dying seconds to secure a razor-thin 47-46 victory. Despite Mendham's last-ditch effort, Delbarton's defense held firm, clinching the coveted title.

Coach Matt Crane's leadership was recognized as he claimed the honor of top tournament coach.  Now, with the Morris County crown secured, Delbarton sets its sights on the Non-Public A tournament, ready to carry their winning momentum into the next stage of competition.
