Delbarton Basketball Holds Off Late Push, Tops Oratory Prep 59-56

Delbarton improved to 2–0 on the season with a hard-fought 59–56 victory over Oratory Prep on Tuesday in front of a sold out crowd in the Lynch Athletic Center.

The Green Wave set the tone early, taking a 17–12 lead after the first quarter behind balanced scoring and strong defensive pressure. Oratory responded in the second, trimming the margin as the teams went into halftime with Delbarton holding onto a very small 29–26 advantage.

Both sides traded baskets throughout a tightly contested third quarter, each scoring 16 points, keeping Delbarton's lead at three heading into the final eight minutes of play. The fourth quarter remained back-and-forth, with the Rams taking the lead later in the fourth before back-to-back three-point plays capped off a 6-0 run for Delbarton.  A forced travel secured the win for Delbarton and the Green Wave defense held strong on Oratory's final posession to come away with the victory.

Austin Kolakowski led all scorers with 19 points, knocking down four three-pointers and providing a spark offensively. Stephen Kmetz followed with 15 points, adding six rebounds, two assists, and a block. Gunther Neumann contributed seven points and four rebounds, while Veer Dhall added six points and two blocks. Marty Hindelong chipped in five points and three assists to help steady the offense.
