Delbarton Hoops Fall to Mendham 59-49

Delbarton suffered its first NJAC setback of the season on Friday night, falling 59–49 to Mendham despite a competitive effort.

The Green Wave and Mendham were deadlocked at 10–10 after one quarter, and Delbarton carried a slim deficit into halftime, trailing 23–20. The teams continued to trade punches in the third, with Delbarton scoring 14 points in the period to stay within striking distance, down just 35–34 heading into the final eight minutes.

Mendham, however, took control in the fourth quarter, outscoring Delbarton 24–15 to pull away and secure the conference win on their home court.

Austin Kolakowski led all scorers for Delbarton with 18 points, knocking down two from beyond the arc. Stephen Kmetz added 15 points, connecting on three shots from beyond the arc and converting at the free-throw line. Veer Dhall chipped in eight points and four rebounds, while Günther Neumann contributed with four points, three rebounds, an assist, a block, and a steal.

Delbarton drops to 9–2 overall with the loss, which marks its first NJAC defeat of the season. The Green Wave will look to regroup as conference play continues in the weeks ahead.
