With school back in session, Delbarton's sub-varsity winter teams returned to full competition and delivered a week filled with strong performances, close finishes, and continued development across multiple programs.
Freshman Basketball
Freshman basketball enjoyed a dominant four-game stretch, going 4–0 on the week. The Green Wave opened with a 47–29 win over Morris Knolls on January 5, followed by a 50–39 victory against Chatham on January 7. Delbarton continued its momentum with a 50–30 win over Mendham on January 9 and capped the week with a convincing 51–15 victory over Blair on January 10. The group has shown steady improvement on both ends of the floor.
JV Basketball
JV basketball also turned in a perfect 4–0 week, beginning with a 54–35 win over Morris Knolls on January 5. Delbarton followed with a 61–45 victory over Chatham on January 7 and edged Mendham 38–37 on January 9 in a tightly contested matchup. The week closed with a 67–50 win over Blair on January 10, continuing a strong start to the new year.
Middle School Wrestling
Middle school wrestling delivered a dominant performance, winning a combined 44–10 dual meet against Peck and Rutgers Prep. Lachlan King earned two wins by pin, while Tyler Gieger, Marco Priore, William Hamilton, and John Kinney each added pinfall victories. Seamus Diczok won by decision, and John Matter secured a win by technical fall, rounding out an impressive team effort.
JV Hockey
JV hockey extended its strong run with two lopsided wins. The Green Wave defeated Don Bosco Prep 10–1 on January 7 and followed with a 10–2 victory over St. Augustine Prep on January 8, continuing to show depth and scoring balance.
Middle School Hockey
Middle school hockey faced a challenging stretch, dropping a 5–4 decision to Princeton Day on January 6 and a 5–3 loss to Far Hills Country Day on January 7. Despite the results, the team remained competitive in both contests.
Middle School Basketball
Middle school basketball endured a tough week, falling 43–42 to Peck on January 7 in a one-point game before a 67–27 loss to MKA on January 8. The young group continues to gain experience as the season progresses.
JV Squash
JV squash turned in an excellent week, earning a 6–1 win over Blair followed by a 5–0 victory against Poly Prep on January 8. The results marked a strong showing as the team builds momentum.
