Delbarton's sub-varsity winter teams delivered a remarkable run through mid-February, highlighted by championship performances in basketball, dominant results on the mat, and a JV Gordon Cup finals berth in hockey.
Middle School Wrestling
Middle school wrestling continued its outstanding season with two emphatic victories. On February 10, Delbarton shut out St. Benedict's Prep 27–0, controlling every bout. One day later, the Green Wave posted a combined 43–6 win over Newark Academy and Rutgers Prep.
Wins by pin were recorded by Lachlan King, Marco Priore, Seamus Diczok, William Hamilton, and Lucas Lacz, while Tyler Gieger and John Matter earned victories by technical fall. John Kinney added a win by decision. The team will compete in the MSAC Championship on February 24.
Freshman Basketball
Freshman basketball closed the season in championship fashion. The Green Wave defeated Mendham 55–29 on February 12, followed by a 61–41 win over Morristown in the Freshman County Tournament semifinals on February 14. After a 54–34 victory over West Morris on February 17, Delbarton capped its run by defeating Boonton 50–42 on February 21 to claim the Freshman County Championship.
JV Basketball
JV basketball matched the freshmen with a championship of its own. Delbarton earned a 42–33 win over Mendham on February 12, then defeated Madison 42–33 in the JV County Tournament semifinals on February 14.
In a thrilling final on February 21, the Green Wave edged Chatham 47–46 to capture the JV County Tournament title, closing a season defined by resilience and late-game execution.
JV Hockey
JV hockey continued its postseason run with a strong 5–1 victory over St. Augustine Prep in the JV Gordon Cup semifinal on February 17. The win advanced Delbarton to the JV Gordon Cup Final, where the Green Wave will face Seton Hall Prep on February 24.
