Delbarton's sub-varsity winter teams continued a busy stretch of competition in mid-to-late January, highlighted by dominant basketball performances, strong hockey play, and another convincing wrestling win.
Freshman Basketball
Freshman basketball stayed red-hot with four more decisive victories. The Green Wave opened the stretch with a 58–26 win over Montville on January 13, followed by a 52–32 victory over West Morris on January 15. Delbarton kept rolling with a 56–34 win over Sparta on January 21 and capped the run with a 54–27 victory against Morris Knolls on January 24. The group continues to show depth, balance, and defensive consistency.
JV Basketball
JV basketball also delivered a strong week, earning three wins. Delbarton defeated Montville 51–37 on January 13 and followed with a 50–28 win over West Morris on January 15. The Green Wave closed the stretch with a commanding 57–28 victory over Sparta on January 21, continuing a strong midseason push.
Middle School Basketball
Middle school basketball faced a challenging stretch against tough competition. The Green Wave fell to Mendham Township (50–34) on January 13, Frelinghuysen (55–44) on January 15, Mendham Borough (57–45) on January 21, and Pingry (52–37) on January 22. The young group continues to gain experience as the season progresses.
JV Hockey
JV hockey remained one of the winter's strongest performers, posting three wins in four games. Delbarton earned an 8–3 victory over Bergen Catholic on January 15, followed by a 12–3 win over Westfield on January 20 and an 8–3 victory over Don Bosco Prep on January 21. The Green Wave suffered a narrow 3–2 loss to LaSalle (PA) on January 23 in a tightly contested matchup.
Middle School Hockey
Middle school hockey went 1–2 during the stretch. Delbarton dropped games to MKA (8–5) on January 13 and Pingry (7–1) on January 14 before bouncing back with a 3–2 win over Peck on January 22, showing resilience and improvement late in the stretch.
JV Squash
JV squash competed in four matches, earning a notable victory along the way. After losses to Hackley (0–5) on January 14 and Princeton Day School (0–5) on January 15, the Green Wave responded with a 4–0 win over Malvern Prep on January 20. The stretch concluded with a 0–4 loss to Blair on January 21.
Middle School Wrestling
Middle school wrestling continued its strong season with a 45–12 win over Newark Academy on January 20, controlling the dual from start to finish.
