With limited competition over Christmas break, Delbarton's sub-varsity action centered on the Seton Hall Holiday Tournament, hosted by Delbarton this year. Both the freshman and JV basketball teams took advantage of the opportunity, delivering strong performances on their home floor.

Freshman Basketball

The freshman basketball team put together an impressive tournament run, opening with a 70–51 win over West Orange to advance to the championship game. In the final, the Green Wave faced Seton Hall Prep in a tightly contested matchup that remained close throughout. Delbarton pulled away late, earning a 41–36 victory to capture the freshman tournament title. Timely fourth-quarter shooting, key free throws, and strong defensive stops down the stretch sealed the win.

JV Basketball

JV basketball also advanced to the championship game with a 46–40 win over West Orange in the semifinals. Playing shorthanded, the Green Wave battled in the final against Seton Hall Prep but fell 71–47 on Sunday. The tournament provided valuable experience as the team continues its winter campaign.

Back in Action

With the holiday break behind them, all Delbarton sub-varsity winter teams return to competition this week, with several key matchups on the schedule as the second half of the season begins.
